August 9 Bret Michaels / Saving Abel Concert

Bret Michaels and Saving Abel will perform for the second day of the three-day 'Rock the Rapids' series, which is presented by Skyy Vodka, in association with Clear Channel Radio and WOOT TV 8, on Monday August 9.

As front man for the legendary rock band Poison, Michaels has sold 25 million records and scored an amazing 15 chartbusting Top 40 singles including "Talk Dirty to Me," "Something to Believe In," "Nothing But a Good Time" and the timeless #1 smash "Every Rose Has its Thorn." Michaels also has several solo albums to his credit, most recently the June 2008 “Rock My World” album. His newest solo album, “Custom Built,” will be released on July 6. His popularity has expanded to pop culture status and he has remained in the spotlight through several appearances on reality TV shows, most notably on NBC's “Celebrity Apprentice 3,” which he won in May.

Saving Abel is a five-member band out of Mississippi and their music style is a combination of Southern rock and alternative rock with a polished, current feel. The band released its self-titled, major label debut album in March 2008. The album peaked almost a year after its debut at #49 on the Billboard 200 album chart, #5 on the U.S. Rock charts and #4 on the U.S Hard Rock album chart. The album was certified gold in March 2009 on the strength of its lead single “Addicted,” which peaked at #7 on both the Billboard Pop Songs and Alternative Songs Chart. A follow-up single, “Drowning (Face Down),” hit #10 on the Billboard Rock Songs chart.
